@moonman @bob If you use standard opsec and understand the level of security various channels give you, and act accordingly, you'll be fine. The problem is many people do not, because they are lead to believe certain things are much more secure than they actually are.

@loki @moonman Prosody will not communicate with insecure xmpp servers unless you make it, at which point you are assuming the risk.

@loki @moonman There's actually a few friends I cannot communicate with on XMPP because they use insecure XMPP servers. While I could lax server restrictions for them or create an exception, I feel it is better for all involved for me to advocate them finding a secure server instead, or help them set up their own. I helped my almost 90-year old grandmother set up…
