@purplehippo @verius The developer likely wishes to implement the blocklists because if his users are doing it, not the instance itself, he can maintain the appearance of being free speech while essentially actually being a walled garden/echo chamber functionally speaking.

@purplehippo @verius When you can paint all your sins on a respective outgroup, you never have to take personal responsibility for them. Don't expect them to change from that behaviour either, since it involves the painful admission they mistreated others.
