Been a long time since I had an alert team this bad in CO.
-
@katiekats I'm playing one of the Archetypes, so I can't carry.

Tank was completely ignoring pulling aggro, and breaking apart groups with knocks when both DPS were AOE based. Healer was running into completely unrelated groups and aggroing them too. Second DPS to me was fine but obviously lower level since it scales health and stats but not the Advantages improvements, so they couldnt carry either. The support was mostly r…

@purplehippo The XP alerts are the only ones worth doing unless you're doing dailies for completion, and even then only worth doing if you're not endgame obviously. For the time investment, doing an Adventure pack like Whiteout or Demonflame is much better money.

@katiekats Archetype character = prebuilt class, Freeform character = I built the class Most of the archetypes are fine, but they can't carry a whole group. Most Freeform characters actually end up worse than the archetypes because people don't know how to properly build a class, at best, they're copies of the popular existing builds (Rayne's original build I put …

@purplehippo Most of the drops are fairly valuable to flog on the AH though.

@purplehippo Get the Jack Fool mask from Demonflame and you'll have 100 - 400G in your pocket.

@katiekats My review of On Alert (aka the reason Champions struggles with userbase to this day, because it was almost as awful as Black Market) went over like a lead balloon. Thankfully, it also went over like a lead balloon with the publisher, and De Stahl got shitcanned and many of the developers replaced, and its better now. They've since migrated to a new forum…

@purplehippo The GRAB alerts are very volatile, you can luck out on them, but I would never count on them as a source of income. Meanwhile the APs will always net you at least one high value piece (of course the problem is a lot of those ones are actually neat, and you might want to keep them, but that becomes very "first world problems" at that point.)

@katiekats Most of them are pretty old. It's fine now. Not great, mechanically, and you definitely want to try to grab a sub as opposed to free play, but not bad either, and you can level a character with a few days effort as opposed to the months WoW can take (I did @purplehippo and I's characters to 40 over like a week of kind of casual play). The costume crea…

@purplehippo @katiekats In that context it fulfills a RP niche very well, and they recently improved the costume creator quite a bit to allow a lot more different costumes pieces to be used together. (This can lead to clipping issues sometimes but its still pretty neat)

@katiekats A week feels about just right to me, really. Enough that there's a time commitment, but not so much someone with a "real job" or whatever is going to be permanently left behind the Forever Alone lot. There's plenty to do at endgame too, like the Adventure packs what I mentioned to Hippo or the new Shadow of Destruction expansion which is grindy but neat.

@katiekats DCUO lifted a lot of concepts from CO.
Pity they didn't lift the costume creator.

@purplehippo @katiekats So its a MMO forum is what you're saying
