   My 3½ hour shift expanded today, as has been the rule in recent months, this time to 10 hectic hours. Good Friday will be spent on domestic chores, then it's up again for a 6am start on Saturday, finishing Lord-knows-when. I'm still enjoying most of it, but I'm not sure "casual" is the right adjective for this kind of #work.

   Was played like a kazoo at #work today. What a dupe! The question was expressed as "Do you want to learn how to do X?". Of course I do; I want to learn everything. That's who I am. The question I was interpreted as assenting to was "Do you want to be responsible for doing X on a regular basis?". I've been out of regular paid employment for too long - what a rookie mistake!

    Finally conceded defeat and installed a mail client on my laptop. Gad, I love #Cyrus #IMAP. A swine to configure on the server (tho' much better than it used to be, on #Debian at least), but it does do a sterling job of synchronising your spam across multiple devices.

    For the last week or three, my weight (being mindful of Goodhart's Law, of course) has been firmly in the range of the body mass index scale which certifies me as merely "overweight", rather than that other, worse, o-word.     @kat In my (admittedly limited) experience, youth must be long gone before it's possible to feel remotely natural and/or beautiful. If a product promised "youthful awkward ugliness" I could see how that might work. I wouldn't buy it; wouldn't wish it on anybody. But I'd at least concede the pledges made were coherent.

    @strypey I'd love to be warm and friendly to one and all, but a) I'd be intruding on @tregeagle's gig, and b) I'm petrified it would be misinterpreted. So I play it safe by being invariably cold and aloof. At least then there's no uncertainty.
