   That's true. It's like cloud stuff. As a federal employee, they were always paranoid about cloud, so I got no at-work exposure.    There isn't real DOS, but there's still CMD (a more capable 32/64 bit version of DOS's command.com) for now. Now that I've done a very small amount of PowerShell, it is so much better than CMD / DOS command.com that I can see even CMD dying out soon.

   @1iceloops123 Normally, it isn't that you need a static IP, just that you need a public one. Without investigating, I'm going to guess that you're trying to run file-sharing software and the it is having problems punching through the local nework's NAT.
