Summer in Texas is hard for runners who are not morning runners. I hit the trail at 11am today and pushed through about 5K in 85F heat. At least the humidity was reasonable. The 4 bottles of water belted to my waist helped a lot, too. -

TIL: a review of the SMU campus newspaper archives revealed that while Dallas did lock down in October of 1918 because of influenza, SMU was largely spared the worst. At least 1 student died from it, but while training for the war in Michigan; and the Registrar died from it. -
