@hannes2peer @discussthang @maiyannah !GNUsocial is now a wholly owned Google subsidiary and you must register with Facebook and like my latest commits (in plural) in order to download the software. Installations will also require you to submot your credit card credentials ..
for "verification".
Also the ssh host keys changed, just so you know why.

!gnusocial Does anyone know if there's a way to register applications/clients in GNUsocial instances without having to manually do it? What would be the best approach to make a client that supports pretty much every GNUsocial instance?

I'm seeing new posts show up in my log file, like this snippet - /main/push/callback/4] POST for feed id 4 - and I verified multiple lines like that against that user's own timeline, whom my account on my !gnusocial instance follows, yet the posts themselves aren't showing up in my Home Timeline nor in main/all.

@litox Sí, toca investigar :-) tengo la duda de si se puede publicar un evento desde el API de !gnusocial #investigando #eventos

just pushed an extremely alpha !gnusocial plugin implementing two-factor authentication with fido u2f hardware keys

@discussthang Public, too. That's what's most important about !GNUsocial. That this is a public space. A sort of common.

@fantadenaranja cuando salte el aviso en !gnusocial vas a tener requips de esos hasta que la riegues o se te llene el buzón de las notificaciones
-
so what do you think, should !gnusocial have something like them twitter 'moments'? i've actually come to like them because .. JKS JKS take a #chillpill bruh
-
Ok... now I'm finally seeing some log entries: action.php - Server error '400' on 'pushcallback': Unknown PuSH feed id 2 !gnusocial

Installed !gnusocial on another host that I had much more control over configuring (running into none of the issues I had the other day) but I still can't seem to make federation work. Even ran through LoadAverage's wiki to double check. Bummer.
-
Weird #private !gnusocial bug : uploading and displaying an image from the classic UI works, but it points to /main/login in !qvitter cc @mmn @hannes2peer

At some point when I wasn't looking, "queet" became "quip". Thank you to whoever is responsible for that. <3 !gnusocial

Psst, !GNUsocial admins. I pushed a fix to master for a regression that caused registration mails not to be sent: https://social.umeahackerspace.se/url/57755

I read this in the topic of ircs://irc.freenode.net/social for !GNUsocial "upcoming downtime on git.gnu.io (moving to githost)", @mattl might know more of when this will happen. But be prepared that upstream git might go down for a while.

I guess that "sandboxing" a user means that posts during the sandbox period shouldn't be distributed to remote sites. Right? !GNUsocial
-
@maiyannah You can perhaps have a look at lib/attachmentlistitem.php if not just to see how horribly attachment displays are done in !GNUsocial.
-
@thomask probably wouldn't for !gnusocial because of my shitty specs, but yes, #searx will be public. Why would I end up missing out?
-
While I can't solve my !gnusocial hosting problems, I'll try to host a #searx instance instead. At least I keep practicing #selfhosting

Nicely done. Luckily, the effect only goes as far as the end of the encapsulating HTML block-level element. Maaaybe the !gnusocial group would be interested to know that funny Unicode characters in a user's display name can wreak a small degree of havoc on page rendering. I don't know if they should be filtered or not, thought. There are legitimate uses for RIGHT-TO-LEFT-OVERRIDE (U+202E) in names ...aren't there?
