@silverwizard Actually, both the #Mastodon software and !GNUsocial software use the #OStatus protocol, as do #Diaspora, #Friendica, #Hubzilla and others, which we on !GNUsocial call the !Fediverse (apparently folks on Friendica have another name for that federated network)

The !gnusocial and !postactiv groups do not exist as an easy means of promotion. If you kind of want to be like "hey guys, I have a question" or just get the attention of everyone, I'd argue that's more what the !fediverse group is about.

@doe, you do seem to be posting *about* "everything" *except* GNU social. I'm just asking you to find or create a group that's actually appropriate to your topics instead of hijacking random groups. People who like to use !gnusocial to talk about !gnusocial may be archetypal nerds, but that doesn't imply that we care a whit about anime or anything else—but there are groups for people who do care about those things.

Used to be, the admin that created a group could add other accounts to be admin. But now that the account that created !gnusocial is deleted, I don't know how. I think @mmn has a script for that kind of thing.
