@postblue @roland Yeah, anything that's a problem with a fresh install of #GNUsocial should be solved programmatically and with patches, so it's consistent. All the #StatusNet mumbojumbo with people doing anything they wanted to the database and then having all kinds of problems was contraproductive.

@lezelt My best suggestion back is to find a #hackerspace nearby and together with them setup a local #GNUsocial and use that. !selfhost :D

Hm, @elbinario could you get a TLS certificate for gnusocial.net ? I don't want to link people to a site where their password is flung around in clear text :)
(be aware however that there might be a problem with federation when changing from http: to https: - but we're working on that in the !gnusocial code).
