Hmm. So one thing I've been annoyed with !gnusocial for the last week or something is that _group_ notices are shortened as well, when being passed through a bangtag. The current method of shortening remote notices is to save the HTML to a separate file (accessed via AJAX on "expansion"), but the notice DB table will contain a shortened version based on the local inst…

And @tuttle too of course !gnusocial

I suck and should've replied here directly. Sorry for the duplicate notice:
I think the "tagcloud" stuff for !gnusocial are controlled by $config['site']['performance']

Uhm. !gnusocial - the #Textile plugin has this code:
$tmp = str_replace('"','"',$notice->rendered);
I would not trust the #Textile plugin to be safe from #XSS attacks. I guess I could change my fullname to something like: Mikael " onclick="javascript:alert('butt');" title="pwn

Do you have XMPP? Feel free to add me on http://status.hackerposse.com/url/6735 and this might be a bit quicker :) You've migrated from http to https right? I've got a of you with http that collides when doublechecking the identity of the one who made the salmon magic signature (which is your https identity). When I then try to save the new profile I found - it collid…

I just joined !gnome on your instance with !gnusocial nightly. Any specific group you've failed with?

@identlud As long as we can verify the source is the same as a certain commit, I'm all for it by anyone. !gnusocial admins - packetize!

I wonder if @erkan is happy now that backups of user data works now in !gnusocial :)
Can't say anything about restoring though.

!gnusocial has a limit on 255 characters for many things that shouldn't have that (like URLs). This gets even worse if we want real UTF-8 encoding (#MySQL doesn't implement true UTF-8 by default and their "utf8mb4" is required for emojis). Then we can use max 191 characters - meaning we'll easily run into collisions when shortening the indexes. So I guess I'll have to…

@jrm Seems to be the misconception that " UX and design are more important than protocols and formats." That's how you get modern, pretty, and completely incompatible web services. Sound familiar? Facebook, GooglePlus, LinkedIn. And even !GNUsocial !Pumpio !Diaspora and !Friendica, but at least there I have hope.

@hannes2mannerheim Är beskrivningen av ändringar i readmen på https://github.com/hannesmannerheim/quitim någorlunda komplett för vad som behöver tas hänsyn för på #GNUsocial's sida?
-
I wonder if we could have the "widget share thingie" solved by making /notice/new for _not_ logged in people present a #WebFinger ID box and the "notice text" box - which will then redirect to their home instance based on the WebFinger ID. !gnusocial

That would be $Cashtags... ♻ @laemeur !gs !gnusocial I was lookin' at my keyboard and noticed that on the '1' key is '!', which we use for addressing groups; on the '2' key is '@', for addressing users; and on the '3' key is '#', for tagging, and it hit me: the obvious solution to the questions around per-notice licensing/#copyright in the !Fediverse is right there on the '4' key…
-
@laemeur Huh. Never thought about it. Cool finding! !gnusocial

Dear @rozzin, most users in #GNUsocial are not native English speakers.
So, you could help some of us. But please be kind.

Great. This is my main account if you want to follow my ramblings about !gnusocial and the occasional Swedish gibberish ;)

https://gitorious.org/ - even licensed AGPL and hosting several large projects already :)
Since git is decentralized, the least people can do is to start a mirror repository on another server. In !gnusocial's case @mattl has set up a mirror on #github but our main repo (where merge requests are accepted) is on #Gitorious.
