On-screen keyboards still stink.

Show should be ending. Cancelling the call for https://wwe.youtube.com/watch?v=2Q_ZzBGPdqE

Went to the cross-town #Target to buy socks and underpants. Should have gone to the close-by one.

It's tempting to think that my county, Collin, is a fluke... but our neighbor county, Denton, which is similar in demographics, size, etc. has been twinsies with us the whole time. We're like each other's control sample. https://www.dallasnews.com/news/public-health/2020/06/16/dallas-county-reports-306-new-coronavirus-cases-and-8-deaths-as-hospitalizations-er-visits-rise/

Who would win? The Geico gecko versus Progressive's Flo versus Jake from State Farm versus the Aflac duck.
-
@amic Just focus on what you have to do in the next few weeks. Good thing there aren't any little ones to fight about custody.
-
The TV here is playing "Big Bang Theory". Can I hire someone to behead me?
-
From factcheckdotorg https://twitter.com/factcheckdotorg on Twitter: Kudlow inaccurately said that hospitalizations may be going up, but thats because elective procedures are now permitted. COVID-19 hospitalization figures, which are increasing in some locales, are limited to those with COVID-19 diagnoses. https://t.co/W0aTmxhon7

Sick. And certainly not in-line with what my own county has seen. Testing is declining to levels at or below mid-April, while new cases are 3-4 times higher than at that same time. "Tow the line" vs. "Respect the science". SICK. https://twitter.com/thehill/status/1273029348619141127

Now heading out to do laundry ???? and ship some books and toys to #Little_Boy_A and his younger siblings.
-
One advantage to local shopping: I can send each child's items in one box. At one time, he knew that every tine a box came, tbere was something for him inside.
When I started ordering online, each item arrived separately over a week or two timespan.

We had so many new COVID-19 cases in Collin County today, I toyed with switching to a logarithmic y-axis for my tracking plot. I will note testing is DOWN, while cases are UP. Now I know why they call it "spiking". An analytic model for this needs a Dirac Delta Function. JESUS. https://twitter.com/drsekula/status/1273024199544713217/photo/1 https://chirp.cooleysekula.net/attachment/65627

My institution posted its broad fall reopening plans today. There are 2 conflicting statements in it. One: classes will only have every other seat open. Two: people must maintain 6ft distance inside. 6ft in a 50% capacity classroom is impossible. I crave realistic guidance.

2006: Black officer intervenes when White officer had suspect in chokehold. She was fired. Now the #Buffalo city council wants the NY Attorney General to investigate. https://www.cnn.com/2020/06/16/us/buffalo-police-officer-fired-chokehold-objection-trnd/index.html [www cnn com]
If “duty to intervene” becomes enforceable law and we can break the “thin blue line” code of silence, a lot of abusive cops will be blocked, reported, fired, and prosecuted.

it's probably just because I don't use it often, but #suse sure is annoying
-
can't use ifup to getting networking to work. there is something called wickedd. I can get it to populated resolv.conf with some stuff, but still isn't working.
-
@musicman Could it be "wicd"?
I use that on Debian / Devuan / Ubuntu.
-
it's definitely wickedd.
In any case, when I installed it there was no NIC from the hypervisor and this seems to have gotten the install all in a tizzy.
I just reinstalled and all is well.

Atlanta mayor signs order obligating cops to (1) de-escalate before resorting to force and (2) intervene when another officer is using too much force. https://news.yahoo.com/police-officers-guardians-not-warriors-203957488.html

Today is #coin_laundry day, but I'm not going yet.

This is five years old, so it may not help. https://forums.opensuse.org/showthread.php/507959

with any luck, I will never have to use it again, lol

Uh oh. Another group of potentially violent extremists.
