I saw my old best friend's baby brother at #Target a few days ago. All these years later, I recognized him by the back of his head. I had not seen him in over 20 years.

I'm up and watching a few #kpop videos before I start my day. Seems like they really absorbed the "boy band" / "girl band" trend of the 1990s and made it their own. Spice Girls and Backstreet Boys were not like this.

At my age, the worst thing about taming nasal hair is the phone calls to the wives. I lost some good men on that last expedition, damn it.

Aw, what?! Brad was just warming up in Tulsa! Besides, how can #Trump 2020 not have a single Brad on the team? Obviously Chad would be okay in the job, and Thad would be great, but neither has the upper body strength to take Brad's place in the official campaign rowing four. That's a big, beefy lycra body suit they have to fill. https://www.vanityfair.com/news/2020/06/after-tulsa-parscale-and-kushner-on-trumps-hit-list

Close your eyes when you're sleeping, Kitty. That's just creepy. Even without the nose whistling. #cats

Firecrackers and every other kind of personal fireworks are illegal in this county because of fire danger. Most recent nights, there's about 40 minutes of flying fireworks.
I'll just watch the portion of the municipal Independence Day fireworks show that I can see from the back yard. No need to test whether the weed-clearing we did was sufficient.

Uh oh. Someone just informed me there's a #conspiracy_theory that the #CIA is behind this ... that they are trying to get Americans used to hearing explosions.
I don't know about what happens where anyone else lives, but this is not unusual in #SoCal.

> ... smart people are leaving the cities ... they can work from home ... For at least the last 30 years, people with any perception have been trying to put a little distance between the cities and themselves. There has always been a desire to stay near the cities because of the amenities: plays, sports, museums, music ... Only, now, they know that they can live without physica…

I sort of meant that same thing. It is easier for white collar workers to work remotely, but sometimes people with other kinds of jobs can also figure out ways to work without being in the city or its close-in suburbs.
I'm about 100 miles from Los Angeles, but I used to commute.

@geniusmusing @guizzy Satellite Internet also has a horrendous lag problem. One place I worked, that was our only option. We wound up paying to have fiber pulled to our building because many of our applications were not written to be lag tolerant.

Thrilled that our paper on the use of charm-tagged jets to probe the proton's intrinsic strange quark content, and doing so at the Electron-Ion Collider, is finally completed and up on the arXiv.
