     If you have the latest #nightly, add the following to config.php: addPlugin('StoreRemoteMedia');
     
     Please be aware that this downloads any image mimetypes and does not pay any respect to copyright/licensing or size etc. But I would like others to test it too of course, to see if there are any bugs :)

     This is why it's a separate plugin. Also due to copyright issues with storing remote links.
