   I wonder if I should make it impossible to have a "private stream" on a non-private !gnusocial instance, since it just causes confusion when notices don't federate.

     Actually, !gnusocial even says it's "only to my followers" which makes no sense if _anyone_ can become your follower (i.e. you haven't also chosen a moderated subscription policy). I guess this is a pretty quickly resolved usability issue.

     It means one has to be logged in to the site to see your posts. Which is impossible for users who do not have a local account.
