writing rich-text e-mail with mu4e. !emacs http://ur1.ca/9ggg0

Oh my god... mu4e looks amazing! Is this an alternative to #gnus? I might be very interested in switching.
-
If I weren't a newsgroup moderator, I would be quite interested in other options. But I need mail+news...
-
Oh, on further look, might inter-operate sufficiently well with gnus. hm. Will have to give it a go.
-
@cwebber I've been using mu4e for about a month now; it does have it's quirks (it likes to destroy all other emacs windows), but I'm happy.
-
@djcb Given any thoughs to my ticket concerning mu4e destroying all other windows in a frame?
-
well, give it a try! it's not as big and mature as gnus, but it works well for me and others.
-
sure -- i actually like the current 'full-screen' behavior, but perhaps it could be made optional.
-
Is mu4e elisp compatible with debian testing version of mu, or do I need to use the git version if using git elisp?
-
mu and mu4e must have the same version . at least debian/sid has the latest (released) version.
-
Okay, that's good to know. Now to try to figure out the best way to convert from nnml to maildir... respool in gnus? not sure.
-
A copy (B C) should work, no need to re-spool unless you want to re-filter.
-
Useful to know, thanks!
-
@djcb full-screen is fine, unless you have a BIG monitor with a full-screened emacs frame, split into many windows. Continued...
-
@djcb I hacked the necessary changes into mu4e-view, etc, but I'll wait until the next stable release to send a pull request.
-
Well, the sooner you sent your patch, the better!
-
@djcb Do you have an estimate on your next release (post-0.9.8.5)?
-
a few weeks, i guess.
