Also, the Government of Canada site search doesn't work without Javascript http://www.parl.gc.ca/Parlinfo/Lists/Members.aspx #Javascrippled

Of all the sites I don't want running arbitrary code in my browser, governments are at the top of the list. #Javascrippled

@bobjonkman thanks to you, I fixed the School of Music site where the minimal JS I use degrades gracefully. Except the front page. The Image slider only goes with JS. My colleagues all love it though haha!

Creating non-Javascript dependent sites makes you a better Web developer than most of them

♻ Poul Dyson ‏@accessguyhere: @BobJonkman Their are many legitimate uses for JS. I use it for App Like experience in the browser.

@accessguyhere Applike experiences are the problem; a website with Javascript can contain any kind of malware !security

♻ @azend: @BobJonkman what do you define as malware? Browsers are pretty locked down these days.

Malware is software that does harmful things. Could be deliberate (viruses, "rm -rf /*"), could be accidental (XSS, #GotoFail). Browsing without Javascript protects me from both.

@RussellMcOrmond sez: "[Malware is] any software whose authors have intentions opposed to those of the computer owners" https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu-ca/2014-March/010326.html
