   All I can say is that if Biden had been a regular employee and not VP, this would likely have gotten him fired and possibly prosecuted, regardless of intent. Using your government position for personal benefit--or giving the appearance thereof--is illegal.
   
   Likewise for Trump, staying at his hotels on taxpayers' dime. Only his position keeps him from prosecution.

     That wasn’t stated clearly. Regardless of the truth of the latest allegation (the basis of the NY Post article), the former VP would have been fired and prosecuted if he was a regular employee because his son’s job (with no related background) in an organization that would be expected to interact with the father’s agency suggests conflicts of interest.
