   $EMPLOYER has a couple of emergency alert systems, and the organization above has another one. Anyway, I was in Louisiana and a tropical storm was headed our way. The local chief for the agency decided to send an alert with a mandatory 30 minutes reply deadline. (Standard stuff ... buy food and water, stay away from windows, stay inside until the storm passes.      If DC wasn't shut down, some of the protests might produce alerts on a secondary system.
     
     Because the secondary system does not use geographical location to decide which alerts one receives, I would be getting alerts, because currently assigned supervisor works in DC.
