this looks fixed, but doesn't appear to be: https://github.com/theforeman/puppet-pulp/commit/b7953f1603f527ca2fea79e03867a9355e2723ca
-
I just got rid of that file and another pulp file and apache starts...idk if pulp works though
-
apache has mad errors. I think I am just going to blow it away
-
ok, let's see if I can successfully follow the instructions this time...
-
ok, I'm back to the hostname issue. Let's see if I remember how to fix it...
-
hostname fixed but immediately it says "package puppet-agent-oauth is not installed"...I wonder why the instructions don't say to install that...
the most curious thing is it seems to be neither failing nor attempting to fix the issue.
Oh, there it goes, doing....something.
-
oh ffs:
Preparing installation Done
Something went wrong! Check the log for ERROR-level output
The full log is at /var/log/foreman-installer/katello.log

wonderful: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1753627
-
there is a workaround here: https://projects.theforeman.org/issues/28462
-
well, the workaround doesn't work if you re-run the installer...does the service start up though? not looking likely
-
"I was wrong with this workaround" hmm...not sure which workaround they mean
-
the fix was merged, but not sure what versions...perhaps I need 3.16 RC2 instead of 3.15. ugh.
-
I guess those version numbers are Katello, not Foreman
-
the problem with using pastebin instead of posting files directly in posts is then you end up with a search engine pointing you to something useless, like https://pastebin.com/5Vi4v4nA
-
so, I think the firewall being on during install causes things to break in an irrecoverable way. If you are going to design a POS software like this, at least tell people to open the ports during the install instructions...preferably before the install is broken.
-
I'm just going to install the OS again...this time I will turn the firewall off before installing
