@moonman I think that's another case of not understanding the benefits of decentralization when it would hurt one's pocketbook.

I'm sure this had to be prior to the hosting and mobile app problems that drove him to adopt and modify Mastodon for his site, so he likely had a nice little income stream coming from users of his site.
