(Not so) fun fact: I have never had to serve as a juror. In recent years, I'm always out of state, but before that, my county has a "call the evening before you're due to show up" number, and my juror code is never on the list.

The “not so” part is this: once, I thought I had to show up, so I got up way early and drove all the way over to the courthouse, only to find out that I was the only person there. The outside doors were unlocked, and I walked all around the public parts of the building without seeing another person.
