A couple of years ago, a local woman stabbed a couple of dogs that had be unrestrained in an open garage and attacked her dog as they walked past. Two of them died on the spot.

She had repeatedly asked the owners to restrain their dogs, but they had refused. (As a frequent pedestrian, I rejoiced when I learned that she would not be charged with animal cruelty, but I wished the owners had been charged.)
