   @tealturtle It was the opposite in Paterson, NJ, around 2007. (Or so the news made it sound. I stayed in South Brunswick and Piscataway, though I worked all over the N part of the state.)

     @tealturtle Maybe guns out. That year, I was constantly hearing about shootings, stabbings, beatings, and robberies in Paterson. I had to drive there to work on an employee's computer (during daylight hours) and shortly before 17:00 a cop came by to remind us to go "home" for safety.
