    Any opinions on #XMPP vs. #IRC in 2018? How viable is it at this point for #FOSS projects to just use XMPP and forgo IRC?

      @rozzin I use projects that use both. IRC (and matrix bridging) is the more common. XMPP group chats work remarkably well, though.

      I've also started to see Telegram-IRC bridging.

      Too many FLOSS projects have started to use proprietary, non-federated services for this, so anything is better than that.
