@storm ffmpeg -i inputfile.mpeg -s wvga -b:v 600k -c:v libvpx output.webm "-s wvga" means "resize to widescreen VGA", a moderately sized video but enough details for anything that's not art. "-b:v" is bitrate for video and while 600k is a little too low in some cases, it's much better than the default around 200k (i.e. kilobits per second). Increase this if someone rep…

@storm There's something funny about blind people using a video streaming disservice for posting audio tracks.
Nevertheless the uploaded songs are performed really well! Is she on !GNUsocial? Posting media here is fully doable as well and less prone to takedown notices ;)

@storm I saw the basket ball video too and I'm yet again amazed at how well the human brain handles a three-dimensional environment with what I myself perceive as secondary inputs!

@storm I usually encode video with 640x360 pixel resolution in #WebM. It's of course far from "high definition" but works with fairly low bitrates while still being very watchable (think about 6 MiB per minute or 360 MiB per full hour of video). Audio can generally be stored at about a tenth that size and thus not be an issue even on 20GiB storage space :)

@storm Btw, aspect ratio will be kept so it doesn't really matter that the video might be 4:3 instead of 16:9.
