@gameragodzilla Its king of funny to me to have a proprer recording setup I almost never use anyways since gaming with a mute wife makes it super awkward even if I did voice chat with her since she can't exactly talk back. -

@gameragodzilla The thing with procedural generation in theory is that it allows you to have very different levels with a lot of variety, which is why the set pieces repeating annoyed me. You're basically ruining all the effort put into achieving the variety with the levels if you keep repeating whole-cloth set pieces. -

@gameragodzilla I don't buy most of the enemy variety actually because they use the same mechanics, just another model, which is extremely lazy. The demon ladies and the DOLL robots for example are the exact same attacks with the exact same damage. That said, I enjoyed it, but it feels very copypastey in places (how many times do I have to go through the same leve… -

The one area Shadow Warrior 2 probably does edge Doom out though is probably Multiplayer. Doom MP is trash-tier. SW2 on the other hand, seems much better, even if it only has three models (which is dumb). I have fond memories of playing co op with dad back in the day. I should get Katie a copy so we can play maybe. -

My biggest thing with the Shadow Warrior 2 review will be deciding how I want to approach the huge disparity between the patch and pre-patched version.
I think I'll end up saying neutral, and then indicating that the earlier version, that you can get on GOG, is the one to get. -

DEFINITELY PLAY THE VERSION PRE-PATCH, THE PATCH BLOWS MORE BALLS THAN A TIM SCHAFER ON A COCAINE BINGE. -

In short, since the longer version of this will be in the review, Shadow Warrior 2 is a fairly flawed game that is nonetheless still enjoyable, that could have been great, if the developers didn't turn out to have a raging stiffy for Anthony Burch and Borderlands, and made everything awful. -

Doom I sit here and hand-wring about whether it was worth the price because it did come very dearly - 100$$ plus tax, but that I can wonder that at all given the price is a testament to the quality of the game itself.
With Shadow Warrior 2 there'd be no question. It definitely is not worth that much. -

I got my money's worth, but that's because I paid like 18 bucks for it. It definitely couldn't command the price Doom could, because it is not on Doom 4's level and never will be if the patch and their talk about not going back on it are any indication. -

I'd say pre-patch Shadow Warrior 2 is like a 6.5/10
Post-patch Shadow Warrior 2 is more like a -6.5/10 -

Every dream that isn't a sex dream or a nightmarish recollection of past trauma I remember is fucked up as all hell. Not always in a "this is bad" way, more usually in a "this shit is weird as hell" way. -

So I took my pain meds and passed out, semi-evidently. I dreamt I was with BigClive explaining how a microcontroller I programmed once at IBM worked and then suddenly a moose crashed through a window and I hurt my hand because of the glass, and then it fell asleep on the bed. -
