I'll just pull the database again when the DNS does transfer so go ahead and post away. -

Well, when the DNS decides to update, it should be on the new site and new DB, hopefully that's soon and goes smoothly. -

Just a note since I see some of you are around. The migration for this instance is in progress so some notices you post now may be lost. -

I like yum better than apt-get or others, functionally wise, as it makes things a lot easier, but I hate how long it takes to bootstrap itself every time if you have anything other than base repos. -

@nerthos Yeah like I said, GS loses track of the sessions table. This results in the mismatch you describe.
I'll probably just dump all the sessions once mysql is ready. It'll mean everyone has to log in again even if they had remember me selected, but thats not a big deal. -

Going to have to hold up a moment or three more, because I realized something I should have probably expected - the version of mysql in the centos repo is fucking ancient. Getting the same one as this is running on, which is still oldish, but more recent. -

@nerthos SPC has that without any of the move, lol.
It happens when GNU social loses track of the login sessions table. -

@halani AndStatus does that a lot lately. -

I'm still kind of miffed that AndStatus seems to expect GNU social / postActiv to accomodate for it's own malfunction. -

@nerthos The new instance is actually already running, just not with the existing DB, so in *theory* there should be no real problem here except missing the messages in the period it takes to shove the new DB in there. -

Notices after this point won't be on the new VM, but I figure I may as well keep this going until the new one's up. -

Okay, transfer is happening shortly, expect a short downtime -

Meh, fuck it, I think I'll just transfer it without the files. It's not like it'll break too much since it should link the original for remote posts where the local isnt available. -

@nerthos As I've observed before, all these rioters are doing are giving the guy ample opprotunity for PR stunts just like that. -

OK rsyncing the files dir was making everything else on this box miserable, I'll just download them locally and push them up onto the other VM through scp. That's also a miserable way to do it but it shouldn't make the sites run like shit. -

Might as well wait for the server backup I guess because its slowed down syncing the files considerably. -

@mikael @moonman @takeshitakenji The queries for queue handling items is pretty slow even on a new install compared to usual mysql execution times, but defragmenting the db is a good practice to keep it fast that might be worth trying if he's not already.
