@mk If I waited for a day walking didn't hurt, I'd be waiting for the day I was dead. -

@hannes2peer I am using an older version of chrome due to the Certificate Transparency problems in Chromium 53 which make half the internet unusable. This is probably a factor. -

Changed the keepalive to be a little longer, and the qvitter polling bit. Let me know how the instance is running for everyone :) -

@hannes2peer Thanks for the tips, it is appreciated! In my case, it was definitely localstorage, but I will play a bit with the polling as well. -

Yeah things are a lot faster if I delete everything in localstorage, so if you have page responsiveness problems, please try that. -

@hannes2peer @mcscx This is something I might play with for optimization too, it is measured in MS iirc? -

@mcnalu @kuro @kevie Nah, it should be fine, since if I got to classic it's responsive. I suspect @hannes2peer's suggestion of it possibly being slow localstorage on my machine. -

@hannes2peer @mcscx Will have to find how to do this in chrome because I'm pretty sure this is why -

I've noticed if you leave the tab open for a long time it seems to get slower and slower, prob from having to go through increasingly high numbers of notices in localstorage if I had to guess?: -

Memory has just short of 5GB free too. It's just qvitter jankiness. -

@vriska @purplehippo @rw Padding, yes, armour, no. The set I have is more serious than paintball gear. Though there was this really strange thing with the league rules at the time where you had to basically go out there with this bulky chest armour feeling like I was in medieval times or getting ready to defuse a bomb or some shit, but helmets still weren't manda… -

Yes, I've noticed the slowness. It's just qvitter being shit. Load isn't even pushing .5 and the disk utilization is at 12% of max, and mysql is fine. -

@vriska @purplehippo @rw The stuff in the women's leagues pretty much is. The upper body stuff anyways. Cause getting a puck or stick in the tit is not only painful, it has greater health reprecussions than it does for men. -

@purplehippo @rw Hockey has helmets and armour, but hockey also involves attaching metal blades to your feet. -

@purplehippo @rw @takeshitakenji Well, I mean, it is made by americans, twitter, the place which names a game 'football' where the ball doesn't really have much to do with a foot at all. -

@thrrgilag I probably like Friendica the best of the Fediverse options that aren't GNU social or my own fork, which I'm obviously biased favourably towards :P -
