   I remember we investigated the issue: Attachments (as a separate metadata with links to images... inside a message) were lost when messages were sent between _certain_ (but not all) GNU Social instances.

   Tip: In order to avoid data corruption, stop AndStatus's background processes before the application update.
   The easiest way: open AndStatus Settings. Then switch to the Home screen of your device or to the application, which you use for the update / installation: F-droid, Google Play or AIDE...

   @ericxdu23@loadaverage.org Yes, I noticed a problem with resending messages with media: AndStatus doesn't copy the media file to its internal storage but simply stores URI provided. And that URIs sort of expire sometimes (become invalid )

    1. by retrying in a better network conditions
    2. SSL mode in AndStatus (try different )

    In order to check this please turn on "Log network level messages" and "Log everything to a file".
    Then download at least one message which should have an attachment.

    @aroque@gnusocial.no If you don't see attachments, there may be two groups of reasons for this:
    1. Misconfiguration. See and change AndStatus Settings->Attachments
    2. Errors somewhere: See "Commands in a queue" view. It should give you information on them. Pleased "Share" an attachment downloading error to figure out a solution in your case.

    @lanodan@loadaverage.org For GNU Social, if you want to have access to any messages at some instance you have to create an account at that instance and add it to AndStatus.
    Then you can search for a message and follow authors (local users only! ) of found messages.
