@modemjunkie@gnusocial.cf Yes, AndStatus stores downloaded messages and images locally, so it doesn't need to download them in order to redraw a Timeline. As I understand, performance problem arises, when AndStatus needs to re-query many messages from this database frequently. Such queries may take up to tens of seconds, and they block access to the database during this time...

@modemjunkie@gnusocial.cf Actually, I just thought about #AndStatus that being able to have, as an option, manual timeline refresh could give noticeable performance increase for people, who have many new messages in their timelines and frequent updates... -

I'm using the same AndStatus database for years (it's about 100Mb now), reinstalled once or two times in two years, upgraded countless times - and it still works as expected. -
