benfell (benfell)'s status on Monday, 27-Jun-2016 15:26:51 EDT benfell !selfhosting By the way, folks using the twitter addon on !gnusocial , how do you get it working? It won't connect to my twitter account. Maybe--but it doesn't tell me--because I have two-factor authentication on my twitter account. -
benfell (benfell)'s status on Wednesday, 08-Jun-2016 03:07:57 EDT benfell !gnusocial also getting, for example, "Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /var/www/gnu-social/lib/framework.php:150) in /var/www/gnu-social/lib/action.php on line 1277" -
benfell (benfell)'s status on Wednesday, 08-Jun-2016 03:04:06 EDT benfell !gnusocial an example message text is "Warning: file_exists(): open_basedir restriction in effect. File(/usr/share/php/AuthCryptPlugin.php) is not within the allowed path(s): (/var/www/cybernude.org:/usr/local/share/pear/:/tmp) in /var/www/gnu-social/lib/framework.php on line 150" -
benfell (benfell)'s status on Wednesday, 08-Jun-2016 03:00:12 EDT benfell Thanks! Now !gnusocial , I've got another problem: For some reason it wants plugin php executables to be in /usr/share/php . But they're in the plugin hierarchy. Why is it doing this? -
benfell (benfell)'s status on Wednesday, 08-Jun-2016 01:27:12 EDT benfell So where is the !gnusocial source these days? The git source I have gets an SSL error. And how do I change the source? -

benfell (benfell)'s status on Thursday, 24-Mar-2016 03:21:45 EDT benfell @deadsuperhero that would be when I need !coffee just to figure out how to make coffee. -
benfell (benfell)'s status on Thursday, 24-Mar-2016 02:59:17 EDT benfell I need !coffee to even figure out I need coffee. -
benfell (benfell)'s status on Tuesday, 02-Feb-2016 07:04:03 EST benfell I have a love/hate relationship with K9. On the one hand, it's one of the few Android clients that supports GnuPG encryption and signing. On the other hand, for me, there just doesn't seem to be a happy medium between bringing down enough email to be useful and completely bogging down the phone's performance. I have a high end phone, but I also have a *lot* of email (it's my primary way of getting news). -

benfell (benfell)'s status on Wednesday, 18-Nov-2015 01:41:02 EST benfell I was always a fan of rewrites myself. Too much junk code that's been patched all to hell gets preserved otherwise. -
benfell (benfell)'s status on Friday, 30-Oct-2015 16:12:25 EDT benfell !selfhost I've had to upgrade my #Comcast Business connection twice now because of apparent #bandwidth issues. So now I'm running #bandwidthd. http://status.hackerposse.com/url/8423 It doesn't show me using anything like the bandwidth I'm paying for. I remember--from about fifteen years ago--complaints about cable Internet service that it worked fine until you got too many people … -
benfell (benfell)'s status on Saturday, 10-Oct-2015 02:46:44 EDT benfell So how do I explain to the Comcast technical service idiots that while pings seem fine, TCP (I don't know about UDP) connections are breaking badly on my connection? !selfhost -
benfell (benfell)'s status on Monday, 05-Oct-2015 18:11:40 EDT benfell Sometimes, !selfhost isn't so fun. I had to get the cable modem replaced yesterday. I have to give #Comcast Business credit: They were out within a couple hours, which is a lot faster than I expect from anybody in this space. Unfortunately, it turns out that a couple of my DNS secondaries had broken. Unfortunately, it turns out that these cable modems ship with some default sett… -

benfell (benfell)'s status on Thursday, 01-Oct-2015 09:36:17 EDT benfell There seems to be some confusion on this point--I saw the fuss the other day too--but the New York Times says that TODAY is International !Coffee Day. -
benfell (benfell)'s status on Wednesday, 30-Sep-2015 15:40:50 EDT benfell @nds you have just saved me. I was distracted yesterday (and, ironically, well rested), so I didn't get to !coffee yesterday. Just brewed an extra strong batch today--I think the paint in the kitchen might be curling. ;-) -
benfell (benfell)'s status on Tuesday, 29-Sep-2015 03:28:10 EDT benfell I think I detect a big !coffee day coming up....
