Also, all the short links @lohang provided are now inaccessible. And he provided *many* links! So there's a case for allowing longer messages that don't need URL shortening (yes, the target link is in the title text of the short URL, but that's less than trivial to extract) -

Thunderstorms and powerfailures killed the hard drive on the server. Sadly, it was already on the workbench, not plugged into a UPS. Happily, I added a new drive to the LVM, removed the old drives, played jiggery-pokery with grub, and it all came back. And since it was on the workbench to be replaced anyway, I did that too: New mainboard, extra RAM, more power CPU. Not a bad way to end August... -
