   Well, I'm seeing lower load and fewer slow queries, all of which is music to my ears.

   Less loaded servers should mean better performance and less replication lag.

   Also off-loaded volatile tables (like OAuth nonces) to memory tables in a dedicated DB server, to reduce replication load on main array.

   I've upgrade our slave array to use MySQL 5.5, which seems to be much better with lots of queries like !Identica uses.
