   I've upgrade our slave array to use MySQL 5.5, which seems to be much better with lots of queries like !Identica uses.

     Also off-loaded volatile tables (like OAuth nonces) to memory tables in a dedicated DB server, to reduce replication load on main array.

     Less loaded servers should mean better performance and less replication lag.

     There are also a few slow queries, especially long stream and the tag cloud on the profile page, that I need to optimize.
