Accidentally got into a political discussion with my mom. It was not fun.
Sorry, but I don’t support either of the #twin_parties or their candidates. I normally don’t even vote them.

"If you're having trouble deciding between me [Joe Biden] and Donald Trump, you ain't Black!"
I'm having no such trouble. Most likely, as November approaches, I'll take a look at third party candidates and choose one of them to receive my vote. I haven't voted for #twin_parties presidential candidates in sixteen years.
And, yes, I am Black.

Today is "Super Tuesday", in which voters in 14 states choose the person they want to be their party nominee. #California is among those states.
Reminder that if you're not completely satisfied with your party's choices, it is okay to vote for someone from another party or from no party at all.
You don't have to let the #twin_parties enslave your mind and wreck your future.

I'm registered "Decline to state" (not a member of any party), because I don't want to support either of the #twin_parties and I haven't found a minor party that aligns with my views.

@tk@bbs.kawa-kun.com No idea yet. The ones I've looked at are diarrhea splatters on the sides of society's toilet bowl, but I've only looked at #twin_parties candidates so far.

#Vox examines the similarities and differences between Bernie #Sanders and Elizabeth #Warren https://nu.federati.net/url/257341 [vox]
As you know, I generally avoid #politics and #pollies (politicians). But I’m reading a little bit more these days in preparation for the election in November. So far, I’m still not likely to support any #twin_parties candidate. #uspol

Congratulations, David, you've discovered that the #twin_parties and people holding extreme left / right political views hate their opponents, believing those opponents to be immoral and unethical at their core.

@nds Yes, you're missing the intermediate steps: (1) people must have been deceived, because they chose the wrong candidate. (2) it must have been fake news and stolen mail that fooled the voters.
No possibility that the #twin_parties choosing the two worst possible candidates was to blame. No, that can't be it.

One advantage to not wanting either #twin_parties candidate to win: when one of them wins, you've already figured up your expected losses and mourned over them. I'm months ahead of some.

@gargron I don't support either #twin_parties candidate. I thought there were better choices within each party, and there are several other parties that people should be looking at as well. But I realizen that Congress will stymie much of either candidate's agenda.
The foaming-at-the-mouth that people are engaging in is not only not justified, it is actively harmful to the future of the nation and the world.
-
@gargron Sanity? In a sane world, neither of the #twin_parties' candidates would be where they are. More to the point, much of what a president does requires the consent (or at least passive acquiescence) of Congress. Most of $CANDIDATE's hair-brained schemes have little chance of passing.

If you vote for "the lesser evil" when a #3rd_Party candidate would best represent your interests you're perpetuating the corrupt #twin_parties' grip on power and cheating our future generations.
-
@mcscx After two decades of watching both major candidates, voting for either is unconscionable. If you knew that your chosen candidate has consistently supported domestic spying, overseas wars, expanding the power of the copyright-abuse industries, and various "free trade" agreements which prevent member nations from protecting their citizens from multinational corporations …
