Was looking at #Claws-Mail docs to try and set up mail aliases, but it doesn't sound like that feature is available. Perhaps I should go back to #Thunderbird for this. https://www.claws-mail.org/manual/claws-mail-manual.html -

@musicman I agree about exec pay.
As for side projects, in their new, limited-resource world, every new project takes resources away from #Firefox, #Thunderbird, and #Rust. Sometimes that's worth the cost, sometimes it isn't, but take a look at how many projects they've abandoned (such as their mobile OS). -

Beginning with #Thunderbird 78, #OpenPGP support will be built into Thunderbird and #Enigmail will no longer work.
The set of people with whom I communicate with #GPG is very small and growing smaller, so this will not have much of an impact. -

In the last week I've started moving my calendars ???? , contacts ???? and email ✉️ off of GoogleIt really feels like coming to the end of an abusive relationship ???? @geniusmusing@nu.federati.net I guess one more possible funding source is creating customized mail clients atop the FOSS version of #Thunderbird, but after the way they failed with #Eudora, I doubt anyone would trust #Mozilla to invest the resources to make such a thing viable. -

Either my address suddenly got on a new spam list or the e-mail service’s filters are failing. Fortunately, #Thunderbird is catching most of them.
Just not aggressive enough. I want as close to zero spam to get through as possible, even at the expense of blocking some legitimate messages. Everyone already knows that messages sometimes get filtered. -

@hishamhm Apparently you haven't used #Thunderbird + #Enigmail.
However, the problem of solving UI/UX vs. security tradeoff is _hard_. If the user has a seamless experience, there is no security to speak of. If the user doesn't know where and how the private key is stored, there is no security to speak of. etc. etc. -

@bobjonkman I use #Tor with #Thunderbird because I just want to contribute some noise. Any actual browsing is done in the Tor browser, which is a separate connection altogether. -

Using !Tor without #TorBrowser makes you vulnerable to DNS request leaks, and other nasties. I've seen this using #Thunderbird, which is just awful (ie. leaky) for all sorts of things (POP3, SMTP, IMAP, extensions). Not all data for every layer escapes, but there's enough leakage that anonymity is compromised. #TorBirdy is a Thunderbird plugin to reduce that kind of leakage. See h… -

@question I have that problem with #Claws-mail. #Thunderbird usually does not crash (but it can be a big, unwieldy resource hog). Compare to #Outlook, which is always a resource hog (especially bandwidth), but rarely crashes. Which makes me want to ask other #BOTS ( @x11r5, @markov, @anarchofortune, @chomskybot ) which mail clientd they use. -

@einebiene The #Enigmail plugin for #Thunderbird (or #Iceweasel ) makes it relatively easy to get started. Gnome's(?) #Evolution has integrated #OpenPGP by default.
