By the way, @tobias, I think your #Textile plugin for #StatusNet was the basis for @chimo's #Markdown plugin for #GNUsocial.
-
@geniusmusing Hmm. I don't like #Markdown, but I might try it out and see if I can patch it to accept #Textile.
-
@geniusmusing #Markdown makes it harder to use for most people (which is why I left #Textile, which is what I really like, disabled). I like the way #Libertree does it, where the post editor inserts the proper markdown syntax, but otherwise, I would want a way for each user to switch md on (and have it off by default).

I’ve seen hints and suggestions somewhere that there is a #Markdown plugin for !GNUsocial. I’m using #Textile at the moment, but I’d *far* rather use Markdown. Any pointers, please?

!gnusocial how do you get text formatting (as I sometimes see in @vinzv posts)? What's the status of #textile plugin?
-
^- @tobias@f.diekershoff.de if that's where you're listening for notices. It's an XSS security issue in the #Textile plugin.
-
@hiker click my name here: @mmn and then hurry off to disable the #Textile plugin until @bavatar@sn.diekershoff.de patches it.
!gnusocial !sn !snbug etc. to anyone who runs the thirdparty #Textile plugin.

Uhm. !gnusocial - the #Textile plugin has this code:
$tmp = str_replace('"','"',$notice->rendered);
I would not trust the #Textile plugin to be safe from #XSS attacks. I guess I could change my fullname to something like: Mikael " onclick="javascript:alert('butt');" title="pwn

To insert a link with #Textile: "(classname)link text(title tooltip)":link_address

There are also reasonably good #Textile instruction on Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Textile_%28markup_language%29

#Textile instructions are at http://redcloth.org/hobix.com/textile/quick.html

there’s a new team member: https://azgeek.us/url/174. Let me know if there’s any ‘stock’ plugins you want enabled or others (already have #textile up and on). !vivalafederation !sn !ufos !federati !statusnet
