@zoowar thanks. reading. seems overly complicated, but a good start. does anybody actually implement this already? -

Spend some time at hueniverse maybe starting with http://ur1.ca/arl7v -

@zash I am familiar with DNS SRV records. Still, you *can* have them under the same *domain* with no hussle. No the case with 'web2.0'... -

@encycl which doesn't work with web2.0 services. hence my idea. StatusNet will know to look for "ostatus" entry, and Diaspora for "diaspora" -

@habi it gets more complicated with Friendica and StatusNet as they are using the same protocol (OStatus); but then why set them both, then -

@habi StatusNet instances, while sending StatusNet messages, would look for OStatus entries. Diasporas would look for Diasporas. -

@habi how does an XMPP server know that it should talk with XMPP servers, and not SMTP ones? :) -

I vote No, unless we want to argue over how many significant digits to display, then Yes. -

It's probably possible with an xrd link rel, but you might be the only one that cares. -

any opinions on this? I noticed, that most users have a zero, due to the current implementation and thought a 0,x could solve this. -

@zoowar I don't think you understand. I want to have the same ID on statusnet and friendica. if I set them up in subdomains, it won't be so. -
zoowar (zoowar)'s status on Thursday, 01-Nov-2012 19:13:12 EDT zoowar
A service can't tell the difference between a domain and a subdomain, so don't configure a naked subdomain. (example.com is naked) -
rysiek (rysiek)'s status on Thursday, 01-Nov-2012 19:03:16 EDT rysiek
@zoowar the problem is not how/where to set up the servers! the problem is the fact that all such services assume full access to a domain. -
rysiek (rysiek)'s status on Thursday, 01-Nov-2012 19:02:21 EDT rysiek
@zoowar because I want to have a single ID on all my services. rysiek @ example . com. the fact that this is a problem is absurd. -
