There are plugins that'll keep your timeline up-to-date, and auto-refresh the page. Look for 'Comet' or 'Meteor'. Of course, you'll need to #SelfHost your own instance...

Our glorious narrative about self-hosting and resilience, especially here on !gnusocial, must be amended. Ironically, !selfhost has been down for months and nobody put it up again. A new !tzag was created but that requires followers to resubscribe. I like following groups, but the way they are implemented seems rigid and reintroduces centralization.

Yes, I think so. !selfhost'ing #Prosody is extremely simple. You can even use the supplied scripts in /etc/prosody/certs to generate the TLS certificate for your host.
