I don't know whether technically I live on a promontory or an escarpment, but either way, it's jolly windy up here today. #Sawtell

Somebody in the next block of flats is #listening - loudly - to what appears to be Dire Straits' Greatest Hits. This is offensive on so many levels. What kind of monster wants their entire neighbourhood to sound like a waiting room? #Sawtell

Cherry red sunrise and a blanket of smoke haze over #Sawtell this morning.

A week into spring, temperature expected to reach 31℃ in #Coffs today. Starting to think that living atop a windswept seaside promontory may pay off for me this summer. #Sawtell

Been hors de combat for much of the week due to the minor ailments I gather round to shield me from any major ones, but just had six hours of lovely Sunday pay rate to make up for it. Walking home after dark I had an enormous bat (flying fox) wheeling round me, with a wingspan which seemed comparable to that of a pelican. They're chattering away all round my flat right now. T…

My new local. It's a long way back to the bar, but you can't beat that window seat. #Sawtell https://microblog.mjd.id.au/attachment/29185

@tregeagle Thriving. Just had lunch at that picnic table in the dunes on Murrays Beach, reading one of those books you loaned to me. Which was nice. Now I think I might go for a beer I can't afford. It's sheer hell here in #Sawtell, I tell you.

Moved furniture across #Sawtell and up a dizzying flight of stairs. Then four hours #work. Still have to make a bed with an aching back, and Kitty currently hiding among the pile of bedclothes on it. But we have a '~/'. Hard to believe, actually.

And we're back. Or rather we're in a new place. To my right, a splendid view of #Sawtell headland and @tregeagle's ute. Yes, things could definitely be worse. Last stuff to move tomorrow morning, then I'm settled, and can exhale for the first time in eighteen years.

Some seriously deficient ℃ we've been getting lately in #Sawtell. I've a mind to write the manufacturer. We're supposed to be sub-tropical, but I think the "sub" is being overplayed. Don't know if it's because I've lost some weight or just getting old, but I'm really feeling it this year.

@tregeagle 1950's #Sawtell beach shack; the original owners were unlikely to even be here in winter. But it's asbestos, so when summer does come, we'll be fireproof.

Sounds like a live possibility. I'll have to check my work roster this time next week. I'm driving down to Nelson Bay the weekend before to chauffeur Auntie Chez back to #Sawtell. I wouldn't recommend joining us for that one, but I could road test a playlist at least. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bQtB_ZfP-Ew
