summary of this issue: user gets his !friendica messages to #statusnet, but the msgs from SN don't reach his friendica. @heluecht@status.pirati.ca explains that the SN connector is basically only a posting plugin right now, in theory friendica supports !ostatus protocol but there are some problems. @liamzebedee Interesting! Individual P2P clients communicating with each other using !OStatus, no server required? As long as the communications protocol is compatible with !StatusNet so I can still subscribe to members of the #BitWeave network using existing OStatus servers. That will avoid the fragmentation @zoowar@indy.im was talking about sn.jonkman.ca/conversation/40145 -

The !Fediverse is not undergoing fragmentation, but more diverse federation. I thought @liamzebedee gave a good explanation of !OStatus. While I agree there is no "official" implementation, I disagree with all his OStatus issues. There may be no "official" implementation of OStatus, but !StatusNet is the showcase application, and #GNUsocial should become the reference implementation… -
