That would be switching the product. If you're running #postgreSQL, #postgis or #mariadb you could switch to a different !fs service vendor.

Although, I will say that #mysql seems to be more forgiving and run poorly wrote queries quicker than #mariadb.

Best part about #mariadb over #mysql, subqueries. I can finally write queries properly. One poorly wrote query would take 16.6 seconds to run, after re-writing it to utilize a subquery, takes 0.29 seconds. :)

Looks like the social analytics plugin will not run on my instance since the move to #mariadb. It’ll run on my much smaller matrix instance but the db under micro is too big. cc: @chimo

Seems that the #ttrss web interface is a little snappier after moving to #mariadb. Could be a placebo effect though…

Several days ago #Oracle's !MySQL upd 5.5.25 broke my !MariaDB 5.5.24; latter's 5.5.25 June 22 upd fixed @Convirture on !Debian Sid again ☻
