The identity doesn't have to be a #RealName; if we were to meet at a keysigning party and you introduced yourself as @inscius I'd accept that as your "identity", but for me to sign your key I might want to know you a bit long… -

A #keysigning is to associate a particular person with a GnuPG/PGP key, based on your own knowledge of that person. I will digitally sign your public key when I'm sure that you're the person in control of that key, usually when we exchange (in person) a printout of our key fingerprints. -
