Busy day today, but for the first time in weeks I can also say it was *really* #productive. And also, I now have a realistic theory about what's wrong with my (seemingly randomly) disappearing internet connection. Studied more IPv6 and also played around with port forwarding - for which my Fritz!Box modem/router turns out to have a very nice user interface. Set up three forwards, two tested, so I'm sure the one for SSH will also work. \o/ #yay! I should encounter the SSH one #tomorrow since I need to re-establish SSH access to NAS and Linode. *sigh* why do ISPs make it so hard to leave them? (no, don't answer that, I know). Frustrating though (especially if the advertised opening hours of "web care" turn out to be much less in practice). For now: I'm ready to dive into my #hammock! Good night !tzaf !fediverse !tempfix et al. :D

off to my #hammock! slow but sure progress today. Set up Dynamic DNS for one subdomain (for Hal, the NAS) at a free service; can CNAME it back to my own (sub)domain. Only thing is, their service cannot detect my IPv6 address, so I'll have to find something different, or create that myself. (I like the latter, if it's not too hard.) Now looking at tiny-small VPSs to host …
