Mine's not a pure !Emacs desktop. I also use #Conkeror & #xterm as well. Never did like shells inside Emacs. @kfogel thinks I'm missing out. -

@duck1123, you might like find-grep also. Similar to rgrep but gives control over the find command. !emacs -
