@joar it could be the upgrade to mysql-5.5, I had to tell aptitude to install mysql-server-5.5 and mysql-client-5.5 which fixed it -

Or you may do a 1-time update to #Sid to resolve issue: add relevant file to /etc/apt/sources.list; apt-get update; apt-get [dist-]upgrade
