Honestly, what I’ve been seeing in grocery stores in recent years looks pretty sloppy from a loss prevention standpoint.

Someone else comes over, takes orders using the same cash drawer.
At the end of the shift, when the drawer turns up short, which employee gets the write-up, and why? -

@coolboymew So far, coronavirus 2019-nCoV seems to be much less fatal than its near relative SARS. If you remember, about 8,000 people were known to have contracted SARS, and nearly 10% died. The thing with SARS was its very high death rate, even though it was really a very small number of people who were infected. -

To whomever the telemarketer is that keeps calling from area codes 760, 442, 909: I barely know anyone in SoCal anymore, so it is easy to know that a call is not from one of my contacts. You're wasting your time. Why not try an area code from a mysterious place, like Roswell, #NM, next time? Maybe that will work. -

@sim There are other maintainers as well, so the project could conceivably continue even if lain/lambdalabada decided to quit. And that's important, because no one should feel obligated to continue such a project beyond the point where they have any interest or desire to do so. -

That was a short call, but I'm mostly just trying to stay in the habit of talking with 8 year old #GD2 one or two times per week. I still talk to her and 12 year old #GD1 during my weekly call with their dad. -

I think I'm going to hit pause on learning JSI (jsish) for a while. V.3.0.0 dropped recently and the docs seem to be behind. The guy who was discovering bugs during the process of writing examples for RosettaCode, seems to have vanished 5-6 months back. I learned much by reading the back and forth during the process of bugfixing. -
