No, it isn't "toxic masculinity". It's that they've spent their lives working and sacrificing to keep a roof over their families' heads and food on the table, ignoring their own needs. In many cases, their family members don't even care. They just demand more.

If one is trying to minimize environmental impact, living & working in a large urban area is generally one of the worst things one could do.

Think about it: everything you eat or use is grown, dug up, or manufactured somewhere else, then shipped there. It takes a large area of resources to support city life. -

Second in my series of questions for my granddaughter #GD2 is “Do opossums speak Spanish?” ... Unlike the first question (“Do kangaroos speak English?”), there was no “Answers.com” question about it in the search results.
(We already know they don’t speak human languages, but the point of these is to find out about animals that she probably does not see regularly.) -

@dwaltiz Incidentally, whenever I have accidentally stepped on a rattlesnake, I've leaped quickly to avoid the bite that surely follows. I used to walk at evening twilight outside town, so at some point, snakes were no longer visible. -

@dwaltiz It is #censorship whenever anyone filters what someone else is allowed to view / hear / read. But it is only illegal when government (or certain monopolies) does it; and there are certainly some situations where it is justified, such as parents preventing the neighbor's #interspeciesism porn from showing up on their kids' devices. -

#GS3, age 1 year, mostly babbles, but he occasionally says things that sound very much like situationally appropriate English sentences. He tossed a ball into a large bowl and said something very similar to "I did it". I told #sonTwo and his wife that he's probably going to be like me. My first "word" was a full sentence. -

@simsa03 Thus far, I have not seen anything that even suggests people have thought that far ahead. Maybe they have and aren't announcing their plans yet.
If the quarantines start a few weeks before the November election, some states (Calif. being one of them) have an easy way to sign up for vote by mail. I don't think we have online voting anywhere. -
