Java developers really love their abstraction:
"Nodetool relies on JMX, which in turn relies on RMI, which in turn sets up its own listeners and connectors as needed on each end of the exchange" -

I was under the impression 4 was out, but the Python 3 bug is closed in Cassandra 4, but Cassandra 4 isn't out yet. Python 2 it is, I guess. -

too good to be true. Install cassie 3.11 which requires Python 2. Nope, not going there: https://computingforgeeks.com/install-apache-cassandra-on-centos-linux/
Well, I might, but not without first trying to get 4. -

Took mom's car to the shop and walked to the post office. Waiting in line to buy stamps and mail this form back to Cal-EDD. -

Almost 18:00 PDT. Looked in the fridge and I think there's not enough left-overs for everyone to eat. I suppose I'll head over to KFC (what was once known as Kentucky Fried Chicken) and get a bucket and sides. -

60F and #t-storms in Bentonville, #AR. 19:45 there. Accuweather doesn't show any alerts, so I guess that's all it is. -

Meanwhile, I'm glad I don't live in the Phoenix metro area. In Mesa, #AZ, where #Daddy_A used to live, it is currently 102F
If you don't know the Fahrenheit scale, think decimals. 0F / -18C is dangerously cold ... can kill if you are not prepared. 100F / 38C is dangerously hot ... can kill if you are not prepared. In between is a range of cold through hot, that most people survive fine. Human scale. -

Went out and chopped down some more weeds. Well, more like scraped weeds, since I was using a hula hoe. It is still hot out (94F, according to Accuweather), but I figured I could put in 30 minutes or so. -

This is the part I'm talking about: "Wealth can and is generated, but it isnt generated out of thin air. We arent talking about just printing up some money and wham you have more wealth. This is economics 101 so not only is it not absurd it is the accepted reality from anyone who has every studied wealth to any degree. I will explain it with an oversimplified example so you can… -

Sometimes, I'm surprised that most people (in the Fediverse, at least, I don't talk to many people outside of it) do not seem to understand this level of basic economics. Really glad to see @freemo@qoto.org explaining it, because he did a great job of exposing something that seems obvious, but people are missing. -
