"Daily intake of fiber is an important part of your overall good health. Most Americans only get about half of the recommended 25-38 grams of fiber each day."
From the side of a fiber supplement bottle. I like how, despite any truth to the statement, appearing where it does is self-serving. I don't know how one would get that message out in a way that feel less like advertising puffery, but there must be a way. -

@musicman RE: their rival #ApacheSSL, all #DDG found was a Sourceforge project for the Win32 version. Even that hasn’t seen an updated release in a decade ( last code change was 2015 ).
I do see that ApacheSSL ( like #mod_ssl ) releases a version for each #Apache version. https://sourceforge.net/projects/apachessl/files/ -

@geniusmusing That’s a big hole in their plan. Better to have a school employee with a laser temperature gun scanning each student as he / she enters the campus. A parent may say “you’re a little warm, but it is too late to call $EMPLOYER and say I’m not coming, so you’re going to school today”. -

@musicman I don’t know, but I could guess that #Apache #mod_ssl probably has versions because they pull in #OpenSSL, which has versioned security releases. Whenever these openssl versions become incompatible, things that hook into it, such as mod_ssl, need to release a new version that is compatible with the new one. (I guess its rival #ApacheSSL must be completely dead now.… -

There were many attractive young ladies at Epic, but I always felt weird about dating people at work. I literally have gone on one date with someone I worked with, ever. Funnily enough, Jacey and I were interview partners at Epic. It was ~2 years later that we went on a single date. -

I’ve met a small number of online friends in person after talking to them for years, always because I was working in or near their home towns. So, yes, I guess the same could apply for dating. I had a co-worker about fifteen years ago who moved across the country because he met someone on a forum. (Well, there was more to it. He’d lost his very specialized database program… -

although, that also depends on how long you've been talking online. I think Monk Turner may have dropped his bag off at my place the first time I met him in person. -

well, it's not like you pick them up at their place for the first date. You meet at a mall or restaurant or movie theater.
If they are able to not be a psycho for that long, then meeting someone at a bar is no less likely to have you end up dead. -

@musicman One of my sons met his wife through a dating site. I’d be absolutely paranoid about the person being some knife-wielding fiend, but I must admit that he found someone worthwhile.
Note: After they’d been dating two or three months, he called me to tell me that she is the one. -

never had AOL, but my wife and I met online. Apparently only 7% of marriages (as of 2015) started this way, which seems low, but I guess a lot of people meet in college.
